Toyota Technical Center, a leader in automotive R&D, is seeking interns for its AI & Robotics group in the Technical Research department in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ideal candidates are either senior undergraduates or graduate CS students with both software and hardware skills. The AI & Robotics interns will support hardware platforms/sensors (robots, laser rangefinders, stereo vision cameras, etc.) for a number of software-oriented research projects for collision avoidance, such as robotic localization and mapping, object recognition, reasoning under uncertainty, and agent-based simulations. Interns may also develop libraries for reading integrated vehicle sensors (e.g., to get the speed of the vehicle) and to represent vehicle attributes in simulation. Skills in Linux and C/C++, Python, and/or Java are desired. The exact time commitment and the length of the internship can be discussed. Compensation is competitive and is based on degree progress. Please send CV/resume in pdf or ps format to Dmitri Dolgov at dmitri.dolgov@tema.toyota.com Cover letters are not required, but we'll read them if you send them.
