Short-term programming position at MBARI MBARI has a need for 3 short-term (4 month) Research Assistants for projects with some serious programming needs. People to be considered for these positions would need to be fluent in Java and C++ and have experience in doing complex software projects and working in teams. Specifically the idea is to bring in tools used in NASA mission operations (more recently from the Mars Exploration Rovers mission) to bear on mission operations in the Marine world for the Monterey Bay '06 field experiment (see http://aosn.mbari.org/asap/ and http://www.princeton.edu/~dcsl/asap/) starting this mid-July. While this position is not specifically AI related, those skills would be welcome MBARI is looking for candidates who have the internal drive and zeal to make things happen, be technically competent, have good communication skills and have a deep desire to make an impact. The pay would be in the range of $13/hr + depending on skill. They must be US nationals or Green-Card holders since there will be quite a bit of interaction with NASA personnel. Both undergraduates and graduates are welcome to apply.
