The Honda Research Institute USA, Inc. invites graduate students in
engineering and science to participate in our summer research program
in Mountain View, CA, in the areas of Computer Vision, Learning,
Dynamics and Control of Human and Robot Motion, and Speech
Recognition/Synthesis.

Computer Vision
Current research topics include visual tracking and learning, novel
sensing devices, object recognition, stereo, 3-D imaging, 3-D
reconstruction, motion analysis, human robot interaction, face
detection, and face recognition.

Artificial Intelligence and Learning
Research topics include long term learning, natural language
processing and understanding, information retrieval, data mining,
statistical techniques, artificial intelligence, common sense
reasoning, knowledge inferencing and imitation learning.

Dynamics and Control of Human and Robot Motion
Research topics include dynamics and control of humanoid robots,
postural stability, analysis  and synthesis of human motion, pose
estimation,  motion validation and retargeting, human motor control,
simulation of neuro-musculo-skeletal system, and physics-based
graphical models.

Speech Recognition and Synthesis
Research projects include sound localization, denoising, signal
processing, speech recognition, speech synthesis, multimodal
recognition, dialog system and natural language understanding.

It is expected that the summer internship will produce working
concepts as well as publications and patents, under close
collaboration with Honda researchers. Applicants must have legal
permission to work in the United States of America.  Interested
